Unity Day Video - Project Overview

Unity Day is an event that occurs on the third Wednesday of every October that promotes kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. After learning about this day, we decided we wanted to help spread the and get more people to participate. This idea led to the creation of the Unity Day video.

Creating The Video

Making an animated video is not as easy as you might think. It takes a lot of time and effort to research, record, and animate. Worst of all, if you get something wrong, you either need to start from scratch or try to edit it out. This video needed to be perfect, as any misinformation could lead to many people not understanding the point of Unity Day.

After researching and writing the script, the audio is next. The audio is most crucial since the whole video revolves around it. After making the recording, the last part is the animation. Animation takes the longest time to do. All the drawings need to convey what the speaker is saying clearly. Once that's finished, the video is ready to be uploaded.

The Impact Of The Video

The Unity Day Video got recognized by PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center. It was also on its front page during Unity Day 2020. The video has amassed over 50,000 views and impacted many more, from students in schools to adults in the workplace.
